The North East Corridor
That’s what we are calling our launch site. It’s a mesh of 6 neighborhoods that make up district 3. Nob Hill, Russian Hill, Chinatown, North Beach, Telegraph Hill and Embarcadero. The population is about 170,000 and there aren’t very many Bible preaching churches up here. This neighborhood is full of some wonderful people who and we hope to love and serve them as best we can.
After Pentecost (Acts 2), the church exploded in size. They grew from 120 frightened disciples to thousands of believers. All of a sudden, the upper room wasn't cutting it for church meetings. So they would gather in smaller groups in people's houses and then the whole church would gather together to hear the Apostles teach (Acts 2:42) at a part of the temple called Solomon’s Porch (Acts 5:12). Solomon’s Porch (or Solomon’s Portico - depending on the translation) was a large colonnade area on the Eastern side of the temple mount. It was a shaded area in the court of the gentiles where anyone could come and worship. It was the perfect place for the early church to meet. It was large, cool on a sunny day, and everyone was welcome.

Prayer. Planting a successful church doesn’t happen because a pastor is awesome and has a great plan. Churches succeed because God works. So please be in prayer for us in this early phase.
